In this tale, "Theseus Journeys to Minos", it represents Greek culture by the mythical creatures and the heroes, as well as the determination. In Greek culture and all throughout their mythology, they tell stories of how they never give up until they complete the task or die. They all present this trait, but especially in heroes, such as Hercules, Perseus, and of course, Theseus. There are a couple stories of cowards and weak people, but the majority is success stories full of bravery, courage, and determination. They believed that nothing could stop them, which was partly true. They worshipped many gods and goddesses, and they pop up in almost all of their tales, and usually play an important part. For example, in this story, Dionysus tells Theseus to leave behind the woman he loves, and as a result, he doesn’t change the color of the sail from black to white, so when his father sees the black flag coming into the harbor, he kills himself. Because of what Dionysus did, Aegeus died. Gods play a major role in Greek myths, but the most important thing is their determination to succeed.
